Why I Started My Own Business (and Why I’m So Glad I Did)

Starting my own business? One of the best decisions I’ve ever made! When I tell people I own a business, I often get responses like:

  1. “Wow, that’s so cool! What made you take the leap?”

  2. “Isn’t it terrifying to be your own boss?”

Yes, it’s a little scary at times, but the freedom, the creativity, and the opportunity to make an impact far outweigh the nerves. Here's why I decided to start Bloom Branding, and why I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything.

1. I Wanted More Freedom and Flexibility

I’ve always been someone who values independence. The idea of having control over my time, projects, and clients felt so exciting! Starting my own business meant I could set my own hours, choose the projects that align with my passion, and most importantly, work with people and brands I truly care about. The freedom to create my own path was a huge motivator in taking that first step.

2. I’ve Always Been a Creator at Heart

At the core of it all, I’ve always loved bringing ideas to life. Whether it was designing a logo, creating a content strategy, or finding creative ways to solve problems, I thrive on creating something meaningful. Running my own business allows me to channel that creative energy into projects that have real impact. It’s more than just work; it’s about making something I’m proud of every day.

3. I Wanted to Make a Real Impact

Working with different businesses and entrepreneurs, I realized that marketing isn’t just about selling products, it’s about telling stories, connecting with people, and building brands that resonate. I wanted to help businesses stand out and grow, but in a way that felt genuine. Starting Bloom Branding gave me the chance to support small businesses and personal brands in a meaningful way, and nothing feels better than helping someone see their vision come to life.

4. I Wanted to Challenge Myself

Starting my own business was terrifying, but that’s exactly why I did it. I wanted to challenge myself to step outside my comfort zone, to learn new things, and to grow. Whether it’s mastering the business side of things, learning about accounting and contracts, or just figuring out how to market my own brand, every challenge I face makes me stronger and more capable.

5. It’s All About Passion and Purpose

The most important reason I started my own business is simple: I’m passionate about what I do. Helping brands grow through creative marketing excites me. I wake up excited to work with clients who are as passionate about their businesses as I am about mine.

Starting Bloom Branding has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It’s challenging, exciting, and incredibly fulfilling. I get to work with amazing clients, explore my creative side, and make a real impact in the world of marketing!
